Community-based mentoring is the traditional Big Brothers Big Sisters relationship, where Bigs and Littles get together on their own to share fun activities they both enjoy. Matches typically meet for one hour a week.
Youth ages 6 –17 are matched with caring volunteers who serve as friends and mentors. Big Brothers and Big Sisters include their Littles in activities they both enjoy like ball games, playing board games or baking cookies. It costs $1,000 to support a match for 1 year and currently there are 65 children on the waiting list to be matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister.
